Hi There! We are Roby and Courtney

Thank you for taking the time to consider us. We understand this might not be an easy time in your life. Determining who will parent your child is an important decision and we respect the significance of that choice and all of the heart and thought that goes into it. We hope that you feel valued and supported as you make this difficult decision – no matter what the outcome.
If you ultimately decide to choose us to partner with in this process, we look forward to meeting and getting to know you! We recognize the importance of the birth family being involved in an adopted child’s life and would welcome your presence as a part of our family as your child grows. You will always be a part of your child’s story and nothing can change that. We have an immense respect and appreciation for you and those feelings would always be expressed to your child throughout their life as we help teach them their story.

We hope to provide all the love and opportunity we can to your child as they grow and become their own person and we would love for you to be a part of that throughout the years. We believe that a child can never have too many people who genuinely love and support them.

About Us

We’re Roby and Courtney. We’re both in our 30s and live in metro Atlanta. We have been together for almost 8 years and married for 3 of those. We’ve always known that adoption was our desired path to parenthood. Roby is an adoptee himself, and would like to be an adoptive father. Courtney used to nanny and teach preschool and has always had a big heart for children. We do not currently have any children, but we’re looking forward to growing our family and experiencing the love a child could add to our lives.

Roby was born in Fernandina Beach, FL and lived there until he was 3. He spent the rest of his childhood in South Georgia and moved to Atlanta in 2007 for college. His parents and extended family still live mostly within an hour or two of Jacksonville and we make the drive down to visit several times a year. Courtney was born and raised in Metro Atlanta. She moved to Athens, GA for college (Go Dawgs!) and returned to metro Atlanta afterwards. Her parents and siblings all live within 30 minutes of us and we get together often for cookouts, birthday celebrations, and board game nights.

We met online while Roby was doing volunteer work for a year in Washington State. We began emailing, texting, having phone calls and video chats for several months until Roby returned to the Atlanta area and we had our first in-person date. We’ve been inseparable ever since.

We dated for two and a half years before Roby proposed and then we were married in the fall of 2017. The following Spring we bought our first home with a growing family in mind. We live in the Northern Suburbs of Atlanta in a quiet neighborhood among a diverse community. The schools in our community are among the best in the state.

Roby is a software engineer and was working from home on a regular basis before the pandemic started. He enjoys the creativity and problem solving that comes along with his career. Courtney is in logistics and also worked from home a couple of times a week before the pandemic. She’s organized and data-driven by nature so it’s a great fit for her! Work-life balance is something we both strive for and something that our jobs allows us to have. We have flexibility in our schedules so we can adapt and change as our family grows. When we’re not working we both enjoy remodeling projects on our home, attending sporting events (or just watching on TV), and enjoying all of the activities living close to a city like Atlanta has to offer.

In Closing

Overall we’ve built a strong relationship that’s rooted in mutual respect and a willingness to work as partners to get through whatever life throws our way. We believe in the importance of parenting from a place of love and understanding that’s founded on what’s going to be best for a child in the long run. We hope to share some of our interests and values as they grow and mature, but leave enough space for them to become their own person and form their own thoughts about the world.

We hope that this brief summary of our lives shows you what a loving and accepting home your child might have as well as what opportunities and adventures they’d be offered as they grow up and become their own person. We would love to embark upon this adoption journey with you and figure it out together along the way. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider us as a potential place of love for your little one.
