Hello! We are James, Miranda, and Cyrus from Atlanta, GA.
Thank you for allowing us to introduce ourselves and share a little bit about our life with you.
We admire your strength as you consider an adoption plan for your child. We hope that the information we share here helps you see who we are as a family and the loving home we can provide for your child. We are a caring and active family, and we are very intentional about our desire to continue to grow together as we expand our family through adoption again. We look forward to providing your child all the love, support, and opportunities to be successful in life and find true happiness in this world.
About Us
We met in Seattle in 2007 while celebrating a mutual friend’s birthday with a kickball game in the park. We connected over a love of the outdoors, music, travel, and good food. Our relationship grew, and in 2010 we moved across the country together to Georgia so that Miranda could attend graduate school. We got married in Atlanta in 2012, and have built a strong community of support here for our family.
Through our struggle with infertility, we felt that adoption was the right path for us to grow our family in a way that reflects the kindness and care that form the foundation of our marriage. The addition of Cyrus to our family in 2018 and our relationship with his birth family has brought so much joy. We are grateful that we can stay in touch with Cyrus’ birth mom. We send pictures and texts, and Cyrus loves our regular video calls with her and his brothers. We made our first return visit to see them when Cyrus turned one, and look forward to visiting again soon.

Our Home
We love spending time together at home in Atlanta, exploring our city and surrounding area. Some of our favorite things to do together are taking long walks and bike rides around the city, playing music, reading books, and spending time with friends and family. We are working on our backyard garden and enjoy spending time playing outside with our dog, Esther.
We love our neighborhood because it is a friendly, diverse community with lots of families and children. It is safe and walkable with plenty of green space. Cyrus loves walking the neighborhood to say hi to neighbors and play with other kids. Our house is down the street from a great elementary school, and there are many parks, bike paths, and activities for kids.
Our Family
As a family, we enjoy sharing time together outdoors, connecting with our community, playing music, and traveling. Our jobs are flexible enough to allow us to regularly visit friends and family in Colorado, North Carolina, and Ohio. We are both close with our large extended families with siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins, including many young cousins in the newest generation. When we can’t see them in person, Cyrus loves to video chat with his Mimi, Papa, Grammie, and Big Bill, as well as with his birth mom. We also enjoy international travel and have had some great opportunities to explore new countries and cultures together. We look forward to many adventures ahead as our family grows.

James is creative and hardworking, both in his family life and career. James is very humble, but he is incredibly talented as a writer and musician and is an excellent woodworker. When I first met James, I was immediately struck by how genuinely warm, smart, and funny he is. I love the way James and Cyrus fill our house with laughter and learning. It is beautiful to see how Cyrus looks up to James because he is so caring and attentive.
About Miranda (by James):
Miranda is smart, honest, and compassionate. She has traveled all over the world for her career in public health, and then changed positions so that she could be home to raise a family. Miranda is a talented cook, plays the ute, and enjoys taking Cyrus out on the hiking and biking trails in our area. I love watching Miranda engage with Cyrus–she has a gift of connecting with his feelings and needs and supporting him as he grows.
