Hello! We are so excited that you are looking at our profile!
We are Melissa and Tim from Virginia.
We both grew up in the mid-west, Tim grew up in Beloit, Wisconsin, and Melissa grew up in Chicago. Although we grew up an hour and a half apart, it wasn’t until we moved all the way across the country, that we met while working for the National Park Service in Bryce Canyon National Park. We both work for the National Park Service, and live at George Washington’s Birthplace in Colonial Beach, VA. We have been married since 2015, and have been trying to have children since then. We have undergone fertility treatments, and were able to become pregnant twice. However, we had a miscarriage at 8 weeks with our first pregnancy, and had a premature birth of our daughter at 21 weeks in 2019. We were able to spend one amazing hour with her before she passed away. Having a child has been a dream of ours since we were married, and we would love nothing else than to have that dream fulfilled. We hope that we can enjoy that journey with you, and applaud your courage!
About Us
Melissa and I met in Bryce Canyon National Park, where she worked a summer season in 2006. We were very close that summer, and began a great friendship. Our great friendship was the foundation for our relationship. We share a lot of the same common interests. We like running races together, we like to snow ski and we like to travel to name a few. We still work for the National Park Service and are fortunate that we get to see each other at home and at work.

Our Home and Family
We live in a beautiful and historical area on the bank of the Potomac River north of the Chesapeake Bay (Where George Washington, our nation’s first president was born). We have a dog, Royal, who Tim takes for runs every morning. Melissa’s parents live in North Carolina, and her sister lives in South Carolina. Her sister has one son, Phinehas, who loves to hang out with his aunt and uncle! Tim’s parents live in Wisconsin. His brother lives in Denver and has two children, Summer and Brett. We utilize our airplane to visit them as often as possible.
“My command is this: love each other as I have loved you.”—John 15:12
Fun Facts About Us:
- We love spending time in the summer water skiing with our boat. Tim grew up water skiing with a 20-time national championship water ski show team. Tim has put his water skiing experience to good use by teaching Melissa and friend’s children how to water ski.
- We also enjoy the slower side of the river by kayaking, and paddle-boarding.
- We travel to Colorado every year to go snow skiing.
- Tim drums in the Church Praise band, and Melissa is a lead singer.
In Closing
We look forward to one day having a child to love and enjoy our wonderful loving families.
We both feel so fortunate with our childhoods that we look forward to sharing all of our traditions while we make new memories with our little one. We can promise to always remain positive and dedicated to the development of our child. We understand that you will always play a significant role in our child’s life and you, of course, are included in the “our.” We want our child to know you and know they are equally loved by all of their parents. We would love to have open communication and a lasting relationship with you; but will honor whatever level of openness is best for you. Thank you for considering us for your child, we can’t wait to meet you!
